Day 2: Khajjiar – A wonderful serendipity
Day 2 was for exploring the Scotland of India – the beautiful Khajjiar. This quaint hill station is surrounded by the gorgeous lakes, pastures, and forests. One can enjoy just sitting in the grass, looking at the flowers and soaking in warm sunlight.
We reached Khajjiar by noon as roads were blocked from snow. There, we mostly engaged in fun activities and sightseeingwhich included the Khajjiar lake and some forest trails nearby.
Post that, by evening, we got back to the hotel just in time for dinner and bonfire. This really uplifted our spirit even more. A bonfire was exactly what we needed to give warmth from the biting cold. After singing and dancing around the bonfire we went back to our rooms and called it a night.
Day 3: A trip to remember
This was our last day in Dalhousie so we had an early breakfast and left quickly for sightseeing as we wanted to make most of our final day here. We first visited the Panchpula waterfall. It was quite serene and we spent some time just sitting there and relaxing to the sound of water. After that, we covered the local markets and shopped for local handicrafts and souvenirs. We finished our shopping by 5 pm and boarded our bus back to jalandhar .
Highlights:
- The snowfall at Kalatop is a sight to behold
- The Khajjiar lake is ab beautiful spectacle and is a must visit
- You have to must try speed boat @ lake
Low Points:
- There was no DJ in bonfire night. I feel it could have made things more fun.
